I will go before you and level the mountaiNs

March10.2020.jpg

Thus says the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped to subdue nations before him and strip kings of their robes, to open doors before him—and the gates shall not be closed: I will go before you and level the mountains, I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut through the bars of iron, I will give you the treasures of darkness and riches hidden in secret places, so that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who call you by your name. For the sake of my servant Jacob, Israel my chosen, I call you by your name, I surname you, though you do not know me. I am the Lord, and there is no other; besides me there is no god. I arm you, though you do not know me, so that they may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is no one besides me; I am the Lord, and there is no other.— Isaiah 45:1-6

There are many who have the belief that God can only use those who know him. This belief not only limits our understanding of God, but it limits our faith in the blessings that he can offer us. God once chose a Persian king, whom the New Testament would consider a Gentile sinner, to save Israel (God’s chosen ones) from exile in Babylon. When we limit our understanding of God, doubting that he can use whom ever he pleases, we are basically saying that God should have chosen one of his own people, like Moses, to free Israel from exile in Babylon. Yet different problems call for different solutions, and there are yet circumstances that we face that no preacher, pastor, or prophet, can get us out of. So don’t limit God, don’t limit what he can do, and don’t limit who he can do it through.

Heaven Father,

Help me to know that you are free from all limitations, and that you can use whom ever you choose to do your will for my benefit as well as there own. You once chose Cyrus, a Persian king who did not know you to free your people Israel, and I have faith that if you choose to use someone who does not know you to bless me, I can give you praise for his/her life. May your work through them remind me of your grace and create an opportunity for them to see how great you are. Even I once did not know you, Lord. But you made yourself known to me in your time and called me to serve you. I pray that your will is done by which ever means you pleases to do it, and that you alone will be praised. In Jesus Name, Amen!

How has God shown you his limitlessness?
