But Our Citizenship Is In Heaven

March9.2020.jpg

“But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will transform the body of our humiliation that it may be conformed to the body of his glory, by the power that also enables him to make all things subject to himself.”‬ —Philippians‬ ‭3:20-21

As a citizen in your country, there are benefits that you can expect. Yet when living as a foreigner in another place, you can only hope for certain rights and privileges. We are citizens of heaven through Christ our Lord, regardless of our human failures. And there are heavenly benefits that we can not only hope for but that we can expect. One of those benefits will be fulfilled in the life to come, when we will all be transformed into the glory of God’s righteousness. Isn’t that good news?!

Heavenly Father,

You call me your own, even in my weaknesses. Through your Devine governance you promised all of your people heavenly treatment. We get enjoy the benefits of Heaven even while still on earth, and we wait with expectancy for our final reward; to be made righteous through your Son, Christ our Lord. Help me to remember who I am in you, so that I am continuously aware of the spiritual gift of your grace. Turn me away from earthly desires, and help me to seek your kingdom above all else. In Jesus Name, Amen!

How has God shown you that you are important to him?
